The PET and Cyclotron Unit, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospitalet

The PET, Cyclotron, and Radiochemistry Unit is located a few minutes walking distance from the Neurobiology Research Unit. The Unit has many important clinical and research functions. Among these the collaboration with the Neurobiology research Unit is of foremost importance.

The unit is equipped with a cyclotron for isotope production, dual beam, negative iron 8-32MeW with a hot cells lab, soon to be expanded. Three PET scanner are installed, a GE 4096+ a GE Advance and a GE PET/CT scanner, the latter two with 3D options. Data from the PET studies are transferred by direct data transmission to the Neurobiology Research Unit where further data analysis is conducted.

The department is headed by Chief Physician Liselotte Højgaard, DMSc.
