Department of Medical Chemistry, The Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The synthesis group at the Department of Medical Chemistry develop new strategies for design of biological active and pharmaceutical relevant compounds. Focus is placed on methallorganic compounds and catalytic converters. The group has developed synthesis of e.g., aminoacid analogs, peptides and neurotransmitters.  Selective and stereo-selective methods in the research and development. These chemical methods are suited in research linking to the development of new compounds to be used as PET ligands in receptor research.

The leader of the group is Professor Mikael Begtrup. The group comprises of more than 10 PhD Students. Good laboratory facilities are available.
